Russ King Racing is owned by former standout racer turned entrepreneur, Russ King, who is the uncle to current RUSH Sportsman Modified driver Karston King.  The youngest of the King Family of racers will be chasing after the Russ King Racing "Futures Cup" Championship in his second season of racing.

King has mentored numerous RUSH racers and past champions over the years such as Brock Pinkerous, Ben Easler, Ayden Cipriano, and Logen Lockhart to name a few.  King was named the 2024 RUSH "Crew Chief of the Year" after his tremendous season helping Pinkerous capture the prestigious $20,000 RUSH Late Model Flynn's Tire/Gunter's Honey Touring Series Championship in addition to the "Futures Cup".

The "Futures Cup" was created  to showcase the extremely large base of exceptionally talented teenage RUSH racers by giving them their own championship to achieve.  The "Futures Cup" debuted in 2011 with the Late Model division and has carried over to all of the other RUSH Series divisions since their inceptions.  The Russ King Racing "Futures Cup" is a separate points fund for eligible teenage racers utilizing each Series' Weekly Series points.  To be eligible, driver must be under 20 years of age (cannot turn 20 before July 1), be a RUSH Weekly Series member, have no headlining division experience, and not be a previous "Futures Cup" Champion.  Drivers 18 & 19 cannot have more than one full season (eight events or more) of Crate Late Model experience.

The 2024 Futures Cup Champions were Pinkerous (Late Models), Luke Mulichak (Sprint Cars), Logen Lockhart (Sportsman Modifieds), and Alex Bush (Stock Cars); there were no eligible RUSH Pro Mod racers.

The "Futures Cup" program has spawned numerous RUSH Weekly and Touring Series Champions throughout the years such as Pinkerous, Easler, Cipriano, Blaze Myers, Zain Harvey, Ryan Montgomery, Cody Rickard, Kaden Michael, Kyle Martell, and Jeremy Weaver.

"We have to thank Russ for coming on board to present the Futures Cup- a program we've always been so proud of," expressed RUSH Director Vicki Emig.  "Russ has mentored the careers of so many RUSH racers in recent years that has allowed them to really step up their programs both on and off the track.  Although Russ has quickly found his niche and made his mark bringing young racers to the forefront, RKR's services and expertise is also available to racers of all ages and divisions across the spectrum.  He also provides excellent opportunities for racers to get involved in the sport via his car rental programs."
