INAUGURAL "MANUFACTURERS NIGHT" UP NEXT FOR SWEENEY RUSH SPORTSMAN MODS SATURDAY AT LERNERVILLE

(Sarver, PA)…After a successful RUSH Late Model "Manufacturers Night" last Saturday at McKean County Raceway that drew 43 cars, the Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC RUSH Sportsman Modifieds will get their turn this Saturday night (September 6) in their inaugural "Manufacturers Night" at Lernerville Speedway.

Fifteen prizes ranging between $200-$1,000 will be up for grabs with the grand prize being a custom driver's suit from Velocita-USA!  In addition, each competing Sweeney RUSH Sportsman Modified driver will receive a VP Small Engine Fuel/Driven Racing Oil products package!

"We look forward to distributing these prizes Saturday for our RUSH Sportsman Modified drivers," stated RUSH Co-Director Vicki Emig.  "Our Late Model Manufacturers Night has grown each year as we were able to award $30,000 in product prizes last Saturday night.  We know the Modified Manufactures Night will continue to grow each year as well as this division continues to build into the future.  We have to thank all of these great companies that participated in the inaugural Manufactures Night.  Brad Smith from Velocita-USA really stepped up big to offer a custom drivers suit to both the Late Models and Sportsman Modifieds!"

The Sweeney RUSH Sportsman Modifieds will be making their fourth appearance of the season Saturday at Lernerville.  Series point leader Adam Hilton has been victorious twice, while Dave Conant, Jr. won the July 5 event in his first ever Series race.  Conant made it two-for-two with a victory on August 15 at Raceway 7.

Greg Martin, who is tied with Hilton for the most Series wins with four, will be making his first ever Lernerville start on Saturday night.  Martin is unable to participate in Friday night events due to his commitment to New York's Ransomville Speedway.  Rocky Kugel, a one-time winner this year at Sharon Speedway, is second in points as he trails Hilton by 16.  The Sweeney RUSH Weekly Series looks at drivers' best 10 finishes throughout the 2014 season in RUSH-sanctioned events.

A total of 24 different drivers have competed in at least one of the 14 events held to date in 17 different cars.  At the last event on August 23 at Sharon, a record 12 cars were on hand for the GM 602 engine giveaway from Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC/Pace Performance.  Three new drivers are expected out in the coming weeks with two of them planning on being at Lernerville on Saturday night including former big-block and "358" racer Nick Ritchey. 

On Saturday, gates open at 4 p.m. with racing at 6.  Pit passes are $30 or $20 for RUSH member drivers.  Red AMB transponders and RACEceivers are required.
