By Mike Leone

July 22, 2015               FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(Pulaski, PA)...The Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC RUSH Sportsman Modified Series returns to Lernerville Speedway on Friday night (July 24), but this time for a Bicknell Racing Products Touring Series race part of the inaugural “Mod Madness” event.  Not only will this be the second ever Tour event for the Mods, but will include the much-anticipated Sweeney/Pace Performance GM 602 engine giveaway equipped with a belt drive kit and water pump system courtesy of Jones Racing Products, for a total product give-a-way value of over $4,450!

"It's just amazing what Sweeney and Pace do for local racing," stated Series director Vicki Emig.  "Not only do they financially back all three of the divisions that compete under the RUSH banner, but also giveaway three complete GM crate engines valued at over $15,000!  We could not do what we do with the RUSH Series without their unbelievable support and I hope every race fan throughout our entire region remembers Sweeney's when they are in the market for a new or used vehicle or on the performance side, Sweeney's sister company Pace Performance.  Both companies are easily accessible via their websites, so it doesn't matter how far away you are I hope both race fans and racers from all walks of motorsports give them an opportunity!"

The Sweeney RUSH Sportsman Modifieds appeared at Lernerville back on May 1 for a Bicknell Weekly Series event that was won by Adam Hilton.  A record 17 cars were on hand on July 3 for another Bicknell Weekly Series event that unfortunately succumbed to Mother Nature.  Rain checks from that night can be used Friday for the $600 to-win Bicknell Tour event.  Greg Martin won the inaugural Tour race last Wednesday at Expo; however, he’s not expected to compete Friday due to his Friday night home at Ransomville.

Highlighting Friday’s show will be RUSH’s second of three engine giveaways thanks to Sweeney Chevrolet/Pace Performance.  This will be the second year a GM 602 has been given away to the Sportsman Modified class.  The GM 602 engine is valued at $3,600; however, this year in addition, Jones Racing Products has provided a belt drive kit and water pump valued at $843 bringing the total giveaway value to over $4,450!

“Jones Racing Products understands what the weekly crate racer needs, and we have generously upgraded the water pump to the Edelbrock low drag water pump- less resistance means more power,” expressed CJ Jones.

Not only will Jones Racing Products donate this equipment for the RUSH Sportsman Modified engine winner on Friday night, but they did the same on July 4 at Wayne County when Ryan Markham won the Late Model engine and will do the same again at Lernerville on September 19 for the Sweeney/Pace GM 602 engine giveaway for the RUSH Pro Stocks!

Jones Racing Products will also be a major contributor at the 2015 Manufacturers Nights for both the Sweeney RUSH Late Models and Sportsman Modifieds.  Jones will post nearly $1,500 of product at the RUSH Late Model MFG Night this Sunday at Eriez Speedway with $1,000 of product distributed at the RUSH Sportsman Modified MFG Night on Sunday, August 9 at Sportsman's Speedway.

“I can't tell you how much we appreciate everything CJ Jones is doing for RUSH,” stated Emig.  “After becoming a Major Contingency Sponsor of the Series this past winter he recently contacted me and has committed to providing all of the belt drive systems and water pumps for all future Sweeney/Pace engine giveaways affiliated RUSH.  We are proud to have Jones Racing Products as the official ‘Belt Drive System’ of the RUSH Racing Series.”

Jones Racing Products has designed their serpentine 1004-AL -CE front drive kits to provide the racer with all the components needed to run both the water pump and power steering pump. Maximizing the belt contact along all three pulleys is accomplished with the supplied power steering pump bracket that centers the steering pump between the crank and water pump, achieving equal belt wrap across all three pulleys. The correct placement of the power steering pump, along with the Jones pulley manufacturing process, provides incredible contact between the pulley and belt allowing you to run less belt tension, while virtually eliminating belt slip. In addition, by reducing the belt tension they have also reduced the wear on the bearings, water pump, power steering pump, pulleys, and the belt itself. Their manufacturing process produces a perfect match between the pulleys and the belt design, eliminating any additional idlers and belt stretch experienced with other conventional drives. This Jones Racing Products technology promotes a durable lightweight belt drive for today’s horsepower conscious crate racer!

Each kit is sold complete with everything you need: crank drive mandrel and pulley (along with the correct crank bolt), an aluminum water pump and pulley with the Jones Racing Products’ light weight power steering pump, pulley and mounting bracket and all the necessary hardware. Every Jones Racing billet aluminum pulley is black hard-coated to provide the racer with a durable lightweight belt drive. Another innovative design from Jones Racing Products is the hex nut machined into the back side of the crank mandrel, making it easy and safe to turn over the engine for valve adjustment. The appropriate belt for your engine and ratio, plus a spare belt is also included in every Jones Racing Products kit. The drives are pre-configured with the proper spacing and alignment to ensure easy installation!

Jones Racing Products, located in Ottsville, PA, is an industry leader in the manufacturing of belt drive systems and related components, producing their entire billet aluminum product line with the most advanced CNC machinery. All products are manufactured in their Pennsylvania facility from start to finish, having total control over the entire process, from the sawing of the raw bar stock then into the CNC lathes or mills all the way thru the final steps of the laser marking to indicate part numbers and serial numbers. Having the ability to manufacture parts in house gives Jones Racing Products the advantage of keeping every part to exacting tolerances.  For more information on Jones Racing Products and to view their catalog, check out their website at www.jonesracingproducts.com or call 610-847-2028.  Jones Racing Products is also on Facebook at www.facebook.com/JonesRacingProducts, and now on Twitter @JonesRacingProd.
